Roberto Procaccini is an italian composer and producer from Rome, Italy.

After studying piano and harmony at Università della Musica of Rome he moved to Boston, USA, where he graduated summa cum laude in Contemporary Writing and Production at Berklee College of Music, winning two scholarships (Best and Arif Mardin). Back in Italy he took further studies in composition and orchestra conducting with Maestri Mauro Bacherini e Peppe Vessicchio.

As a composer, he wrote music for images, theatre, movies, advertisements; he worked for Arnoldo Foà (“Diana e la Tuda”, “Anphitryon Toujours”, “Colpevole Innocenza”, “Pluto”), Claudio Insegno (“3 Moschettieri e 1/2”), Maurizio Panici (“Sul lago dorato”), Roberto Innocente (“La Patrizia”, together with Fabio Concato).

In 2005 he wrote the music for “Sign of Sound”, multimedia show of music, dance and live painting by Fabiana Yvonne Lugli, meeting with such musicians as Antonio Sanchez and Gregoire Maret (Pat Metheny Group).

In 2007 he composed the music for “A quattro mani – Acqua in bocca”, a film-interview with thriller writers Carlo Lucarelli and Andrea Camilleri for RaiTre, “Memorie di Adriano – La voce dell’imperatore” with Giorgio Albertazzi (both directed by Matteo Raffaelli) and “The African Game” by Michele Massimo Tarantini (soundtrack published by Warner Chappell).

In 2008 he won a special mention at the “Biennale della Poesia – Lettera d’argento”, a festival of poetry and music at the theater “La Fenice” in Venice, directing a 50-piece orchestra.

In 2009 he created the music for “Trappola d’autore” by Franco Salvia; soundtrack is published by Warner Chappell.

In 2010 he took part, with an original song, to the soundtrack of “Sharm-el-Sheik” by Ugo Fabrizio Giordani and composed the music for “In punta di cuore”, directed by Lorenzo Degl’Innocenti, written by Ugo Chiti.

In 2011 he wrote the music for “Il mito del Forte”, documentary film by Matteo Raffaelli. In 2012 he composed the soundtrack for “Fabrizio Misce Caselli” TV film directed by Alessio and Claudio Focardi, the music for “La ragazza di Bube” directed by Marco Toloni and Paolo Biribò and the soundtrack for “More Than Words”, a short film written and directed by Andrea Giacomini, winner of a section at the AFI Film Festival in Los Angeles.

He is currently taking part with an original song to the soundtrack of “Passione sinistra”, the next upcoming feature movie by Marco Ponti and just finished composing music for Yamaha Racing unveiling promo video for 2013 Moto GP YZR-M1.

He has also worked as producer/arranger/songwriter/keyboardist for many recording artists: The Niro, Otto Ohm, Zero Assoluto, Marco Mengoni, Anansi, Bandabardò, Marina Rei, Patty Pravo, Chiara Civello, Spagna, Ron, Damian Draghici, Claudio Mattone, Tony Renis, Peppe Vessicchio, Max Calò, Marco Armani, Syria, Barbara Eramo, Madame Lingerie, Deserto Rosso, Stefano Palatresi, Enrico Sognato, Luna among others.

Besides he worked in the United States as a writer, arranger and producer for EG Daily, Intermusic and Compression Records, in Spain as a writer and arranger for the musical “Aladdin.”

His producer credits include The Niro, signed by Universal, artist revelation of 2008 and winner of the 2008 MEI award as the best rookie talent. He and his longtime music partner Gianluca Vaccaro are currently producing his third album. In 2011 he founded “Midinette” with Valerio Faggioni and Isabelle Seleskovitch, a music collective based on the combination of music and video.
